WPTPoker, is a white label site operating on the Party Poker network, the online poker site was acquired in 2009 when bwin.party acquired the World Poker Tour brand and services from WPT Entertainment for an estimated $13 million, as bwin.party looked to further its presence in the global poker market.
Online poker news sources have reported that the closure of WPTPoker by bwin.party was communicated to poker players via email. The communication told players that the operator would concentrate its poker services on bwin.poker and Party Poker platforms.
Last week bwin.party announced in its Q1 2015 operating statement, that its poker division had recorded its biggest yearly decline in net revenues down 31% to €16.8 million. The vertical had seen a significant drop in player activity on the platform from 41,000 actives to 28,900 in Q1 2015.
